Research into Costumes and Make-up

Typically, thrillers have stereotypical costumes for characters. A villain, such as Brad Pitt in the film Se7en, is dressed in a black overcoat to suggest his dark character. Whereas Morgan Freeman is shown wearing a white shirt and light-coloured mac to suggest his good character. The specific choice of colours for these costumes provides a visible contrast between the characters on screen. Both characters are dressed professionally, which immediately suggests that they are detectives.

Here are some of the props used in the film Dexter.
These are typical props used in thriller films, and
are similar to the ones we will use in our film.

Typically, props used in thriller films are intended to
inflict fear or a sense of caution into the audience.
That is why we have chosen to use similar props to
these, because we are aiming to create a dark,
threatening atmosphere.
