Our original ideas

For our original idea we was going to film in the Falcon Centre and on Wombwell Lane and in the woods at side of Wombwell Lane. We changed our ideas after we found out there was work being done on the Falcon Centre.

Initial Full Film Ideas

From our original ideas, we had another group brainstorm and came up with some more ideas. We still like the idea of a girl witnessing something and being a liability, but we want to think of something more original. Here are some of our new ideas:

• Young adult audience - we know we definitely want this to be our target audience.

• A girl on her way to College witnesses a murder scene
• Sees a man pick up a gun laying next to a body
• Man sees the girl and she runs away
• She goes about the next week normally
• At the end of the week, she goes through the woods as a shortcut
• Sees the man and runs (opening sequence)
• Confrontation where she finds out the truth
• TWIST!

or

• Girl has seen something and is kidnapped
• FLASHBACK to:-
• The man is a teacher at her College. He is portrayed as a nice person, and is seen giving her extra tutoring sessions
• Several suspects are presented to the audience through the week
• The girl has a lot of scares during that week - bus scare / mugged...etc...
• The girl is lonely and doesn't have many friends

Original ideas

From our original idea, we like the idea of filming the opening in the woods when the girl is running from the man. After a group discussion, we decided that instead of being trapped in her own house and having her phone wires cut, she should run into a park and be cornered. This would be easier to film, and a girl being trapped in her own house by a stalker is something that has been done a lot.

So here is our altered storyline for our 2 minute opening sequence.

Storyline brainstorm:

• Opening titles - film forest floor
• Camera focuses on someone's feet as they're running through the woods
• Show the man's feet
• Girl reaches the edge of the woods, runs through some streets, maybe a park
• Eye-line match from her eyes to a house
• Focus on a person blocking the entrance to the park
• Girl turns around and the attacker is behind her
• Camera jerks - he hits her and she faints / is knocked unconscious

Original Idea / Starting point

Our idea is to make our film a thriller. We will have a 2 main characters - a man and a woman. The woman has seen something that makes her a liability, so the man hunts her down to kill her. Our 2 minutes opening sequence will be of the girl running from the man, first through the woods, and then onto a street as she tries to find her way home. Then sequence will end where she is locked in her own house, and he cuts the phone wires and tormets her from outside. We would like the 2 minute film to end on a cliffhanger where she looks out of her kitchen window, and then turns round to find him standing behind her.
