Here is the story that will be in our opening sequence.
- Man is getting ready for a normal day
- He goes into another room, turns on a light, see a wall of photos
- Cuts to the girl in the photos, in a dark room, tied up
- Cuts back to the man wiping knives clean and laying them out on a surface
- Cuts back to the dark room, boots descending the stairs
- Bright light shines on the girl
- She asks, 'Who's there?' (slurred because she has been drugged), man steps in front of light, revealing a black silhouette
This is the storyline that would make up the full film (picking up from the end of our opening sequence).
- Introduce girl's brother who thinks his sister isn't on holiday. The family think she is on holiday with friends. No one believes her brother. He sets out to find her on his own without help from his family or the police.
- Stalker sends her friends a text saying she can't make it on the holiday. Brother sees something in her bedroom that she always takes with her.
- Brother looks through her photos and sees the same man in every background (with camera).
- Brother recognises the man and tracks him down to a nearby house.
- Waits until stalker leaves to go in, but stalker comes back.
- Brother hides and gets away, bring police who go into the house and check the basement. But the stalker has already moved her after hearing the brother leave. Police leave.
- Brother breaks in again, fight scene leads to death of stalker. Brother saves his sister.
We adapted our original ideas because we felt that they had been done too many times. The typical location and time for a horror film, is during the night in the woods. This is why we chose to set our film during the early morning, in a house.
