- Shot 9) Character walks right up to the camera and the shot fades quickly out to black. The next shot fades quickly in from black to show the man facing the other way in a different place. Below is an example from The Mask of Zorro.
- Balancing the classical music so that during the shots of the female character, it sounds as if it's coming from upstairs.
- Editing the shots of the man walking down the stairs and the girl in the chair to make it appear as thought they are in the same room.
- Using canted angles to make the girl appear as if she has been drugged.
